Backyard Burning Is Closed

While the fire danger remains low, recreational camp fires are still allowed.  

Recreational fires need to be constantly attended by a competent person until the material is completely burned out or extinguished.

Adequate provisions should be made to prevent the fire from spreading.  These provisions may include having a charged hose line, shovels, or other fire tools available and a fire line around the burn area.   

WARNING: GASOLINE AND OTHER FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS ARE VERY VOLATILE AND DANGEROUS.  DO NOT USE FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS TO START YOUR FIRE.

The following materials are prohibited from being burned:

  • Uncut grass/vegetation
  • Rubber products
  • Tires;
  • Plastics
  • Paint
  • Tar
  • Asphalt
  • Shingles
  • Household garbage
  • Petroleum & petroleum-treated materials
  • Industrial waste
  • Any material that creates dense smoke or noxious odors.
